Engineering Survey of Dalian Laohutan Bay Reconstruction Project

This project mainly involving the underwater bank on the east and west coasts of Dalian Hutan Bay completes the revetment works for coastal environmental governance and modification. The near-shore submarine elevation is 0.11~-11.90m with significant changes of water depths, and the exploration operations are greatly affected by water depths and swells. Considering the complicated formation conditions, the Class of geotechnical survey is classified as Class A.
The reclamation and excavation areas within Hutan Bay are 394,899 square meters and 4,720 square meters respectively, and the planned coastline is about 5,450m in length. The east and west coastlines beyond Chaoshui Dam are about 1,540 m and 1,475m respectively, while the internal coastlines of new commercial street and public green spaces of Ocean Park are about 725m and 1,710m long.
The construction equipment involved include 12 geo-engineering drilling machines of various types; 12 offshore drilling platforms (6 barges and 6 scows, 240 horsepower), equipped with 12 transport ships in total.
The stages of feasibility study and construction drawing design involve 164 boreholes, 2196.30m of drilled footage, 55.50m of heavy dynamic penetration, 72 standard penetration tests and 281 soil/rock samples.
