The project located in Huangdao District (Qingdao City) is of great significance for the settlement of contradiction between increased volume of crude oil imports and insufficient capacity of existing terminal in Qingdao Port.

As the domestic first large-span variable-section continuous girder bridge made of prestressed concrete in port engineering with the semi-joint span of 52m+80m×4+5m, the superstructure and substructure of approach bridge adopt the dual-joint variable-section continuous box girder made of prestressed concrete and the gravity caisson foundation respectively.
