Xiaoyao Bay Interchange Overpass in Dalian Development Zone

Located at the intersection of No. 5 Road and Huanghai Avenue, the Xiaoyao Bay Interchange Overpass has improved the transport system of Xiaoyao Bay International Business Center after completion. 

As the largest overpass in Dalian Development Zone, the total length of nine ramps reaches 3896m with a main bridge of 1091m — the three-layer interchange overpass is just like a butterfly situated in Xiaoyao Bay.

The overpass plan is inspired by the shape of cloverleaf, with two ramps transferred to the north side of No. 5 Road to reduce the number of ramps crossing the rapid rail line, thus forming the current butterfly-shaped interchange overpass that greatly reduces the land area of bridge construction. The total investment is RMB 180 million.

The project is awarded the Third Prize of Excellent Design (Ministry of Education).
